Request for Nominations

MU’s Harry S Truman School of Public Affairs seeks nominations from individuals and organizations for the Governor Mel Carnahan Public Service Award. Appropriate nominees are Missourians who have made significant contributions through their public service, both paid and volunteer, in the government, education, nonprofit, or legal sectors. The honoree will be the candidate who has demonstrated both an extraordinary commitment to public service and significant achievements that have made a real difference for the community served.

Gifts from alumni and friends make a significant difference in the lives of students. Financial support of the Dean’s Fund for Excellence, scholarships, academic enrichment and other priorities serves to elevate students and programs.

The Dean’s Fund for Excellence enables the director to provide special student programs, hire and retain outstanding faculty, take advantage of unexpected opportunities and more.

Scholarships are used to compete for top students while faculty support encourages top professors to choose the Truman School.

Ways to give

Endowed Funds

Endowment funds are permanent funds that distribute an annual payout year after year. Endowments continue to give forever. Truman School endowments can range from completely unrestricted, allowing the school to pursue unexpected opportunities, to scholarships and fellowships, endowed faculty positions and funds that support the school’s programs.

We welcome gifts of any size to existing endowments. If you are interested in establishing a named endowment with a minimum gift of $25,000, please contact us.

Gift Planning

Planned gifts allow you to make charitable gifts now or after your lifetime while enjoying financial benefits for yourself.
